If you have a project that involves tearing out your lawn and replace it, you could try and do it by hand with a shovel, or with a manual sod cutter, but if you really want to save time and backbreaking labor, you’ll probably decide to do it with a sod cutter rental. The advantage of using a gas powered sod cutter is that it is quick and effective. All you have to do is turn the machine on, and then set the depth of the blades at which you would like to cut your sought out. I generally recommend that if you are just going to be throwing the sought a way that you just cut below the surface. If you want to keep on replanting, you want to cut an inch and a half below the surface.
When you’re using a sod cutter the most important thing is to keep the machine straight. If you are unfamiliar with how to use it, make sure to go slow until you get the hang of it. After you’re done put out everything on your lawn, start rolling it up into piles and haul it away and dispose of it. It is really quite simple to do.
